Multi split air conditioning vs mini split air conditioning
Multi split air conditioning vs mini split air conditioning
So, one thing I’ve been hearing a lot about as an HVAC technician are the ductless central air conditioning options that people are becoming very excited about.
The two most popular forms of this ductless air conditioning are the multi split air conditioning and the mini split air conditioning.
While both of these air conditioning options are ductless- and their names sound very similar- there is a difference. Multi split air conditioning and mini split air conditioning might sound like a distinction without a difference, but it’s not. Both of these units provide heating and/or cooling to multiple rooms of portions of the home, but they don’t work exactly the same way. The difference between multi split air conditioning and mini split air conditioning is the level of specificity that can be achieved between different rooms. With a ductless multi split, the same temperature is provided throughout all of the rooms in which the multi split air conditioner is installed. With the ductless mini split air conditioner, on the other hand, you are able to set different temperatures to different rooms. Ductless mini split air conditioning does provide the user with more specificity and it’s the one that I would recommend if that’s something that’s important to you. Especially if/when you have children, the level of room-based specificity that’s achieved with mini split air conditioning is very appealing. I hope this has helped you if you’re trying to decide between multi split air conditioning and mini split air conditioning. If you still have questions, I would be happy to talk more about it!
