Is there a difference between commercial and residential HVAC systems?
Alright, so I’ve been looking to upgrade my central heating and central air conditioning.
I probably should’ve started this process of replacing my HVAC system at a time that wasn’t so hot, but this is where I’m at.
Anyway, I’ve been looking for a slightly used HVAC system. I would like to have an HVAC system of great quality, but great quality tends to come at a great price. I thought maybe I would be able to find a used HVAC unit that was one of the better HVAC brands. Now that I’m searching for HVAC systems for sale, I’m finding almost exclusively commercial HVAC systems. I guess a lot of places get started, go out of business and then sell their old HVAC system. Well, I’m thinking about just buying one of the commercial HVAC systems. My house has enough room for a couple of the smaller ones. I’m just wondering though, is there a difference (other than size) between a commercial HVAC system and a residential HVAC system? They look the same to me, but maybe I’m missing something. Does anyone know the difference between a commercial HVAC system and a residential HVAC system? Not to toot my own horn- and I’m by no means an HVAC technician- but I’m pretty mechanically savvy and I’m just not seeing the distinction. I would really appreciate the input before I go and buy a commercial HVAC system that I’m not able to use! I could see myself doing something stupid like that if I don’t get some good advice! Thanks!
