I didn’t realize how important it was to have the option of renting a chiller until I opened my restaurant.

I bought a small restaurant that already had a chiller installed.

The restaurant had been closed for several years and I wasn’t even sure I was going to be able to resurrect the old chiller. I called a local repair company that specialized in walk-in refrigerator/freezer units. I told him about the building and he knew exactly where I was talking about. He came out to inspect the chiller system. He told me it was going to take a lot of work and time to get the current chiller ready for use. He was going to remove the chiller and take it to the shop. In the meantime, there was a local company that had chiller rentals for these situations. He could have them bring a chiller to the restaurant and have it installed. He said it would be cheaper and allow me to open the restaurant much more quickly. I was surprised at how inexpensive it was to rent the chiller. The chiller rental company assured me that if there was a problem, they would immediately send someone out to repair or replace the chiller, at no added cost. If I needed the chiller for longer than we anticipate, he would just add a monthly charge for the added time. The owner of the chiller rental company was very amenable, and he made the process simple and painless. I am now two months into the rental of my chiller and everything has gone well. The repair company who has my original chiller told me that it is not able to be repaired. I was able to turn my rental chiller into a lease/buy option.
