The house my parents live in is not that big and the fact that the AC is being replaced after only 5 years is insane! The HVAC technician told my dad to keep the temperature lower and he would have less maintenance and be able to use the AC much longer.

One thing I have learned about myself is that I can’t sleep if I am too hot. I think this goes back to when I was a little kid. I used to sleep in the crib with the fan running right next to my face and was not able to sleep without it. My parents said that during hurricanes, they would have to run a generator or have battery operated fans ready to go when the AC would go out. My sister was the same way. We really were spoiled by the air conditioner when we were younger. My dad would always keep the thermostat very low and get mad whenever any of us adjusted it. The air conditioner at my parents house has had to be replaced for so much use that half of the time a normal air conditioner would have to be replaced. He agreed but as soon as the AC was installed, he turned the temperature back down to 68 like he always has. Sleeping with the AC low is one of my favorite things to do. I love the feeling I get after a good night’s rest.
