This occurrence happened a couple more times.
Six years ago, I purchased an early smart temperature control for our home. I loved it then and will always have one. It has done wonders in saving myself and others money & quickly paying for itself by being so energy efficient. That is, actually, until this Summer. I couldn’t figure out what on earth was going on with my favorite device. My cooling bill was higher than it has been in a super long time! I didn’t know what to think. At first, I thought maybe our filters weren’t cleaned correctly but I have our Heating & Air Conditioning system diagnosed semi-quarterly & I know I properly change the filters. I called our Heating & Air Conditioning provider anyways & even had an Heating & Air Conditioning specialist sent out to professionally investigate but he couldn’t find anything wrong at that time with our Heating & Air Conditioning system. What was going on? One day, while I was sitting bored at work, I happened to look at our iphone & check our smart temperature control app. When I did open the app, I was shocked to see our A/C set to 50 degrees! I almost fell out of our chair onto the ground. I quickly readjusted the temperature. After my long meeting, I looked at the app again & saw that, once again, our cooling system somehow had been set to 50 degrees. I changed it again. This occurrence happened a couple more times. Maybe our smart temperature control was totally broken? I called our Heating & Air Conditioning provider & told them a bit about the problem. They couldn’t figure out why this was happening either, but asked if I had kids. When I got home, I asked our kids if they had observed anything highly unusual about the temperature control while they were at the lake house. My youngest spoke up sweetly & said “Yeah, every time both of us turned the temperature down, it just kept setting the cooling system back to hot again.”
