My husband was in the military for over 12 years, & the two of us spent a lot of time in a foreign country… While the two of us were there, my husband purchased a really nice car.

The automobile was a beautiful Toyota Supra with all of the bells & whistles.

The Toyota Supra has a racing stripe down the side & a truly nice fin spoiler. It also has a truly nice carbon fiber hood with two exhaust holes. We had to jump through all kinds of hoops to get the automobile shipped back to our property, but my husband & I didn’t realize that the cars in that country do not meet the same safety standards & rules as cars in our country. We were incredibly lucky that the automobile was already 15 years old. By the time the two of us got ready to return the beach house in our own country, the automobile was close to meeting the 25-year exemption rule. The 25-year exemption rule is basically a way to get around the safety standards in our country. Once the automobile has reached 25 years of age, it is called an antique. At this point, the laws change. Since it was the only way for us to take the car back to our beach property, the two of us decided to wait. We signed a lot of paperwork & went over everything with the customs agents. Our automobile had to sit in a shipyard for approximately 18 months, before the two of us could unload it & bring it back to our dwelling. We brought the Toyota Supra back to our beach property a few months ago, & the shipyard took excellent care of the vehicle. The paint still looks great & there is no rust or destruction. We purchased a brand new battery & changed the oil, & the automobile started up easily & purred just like a kitten.
