Living isn’t an option for them

I currently work for a bee removal and rescue dealer, then it might sound like a bizarre task although I adore it and the toil is steady when you live in the south.

  • The chilly weather never kills off the bees, so there is always a nest to tackle.

We do residential and commercial bee removal, but schools, banks and large corporations are not safe from yellow overcoats or wasps making a nest. That is where both of us come into play. The goal of our corporation is to do a live bee rescue. We eventually remove the bees and relocate them to a second party honey keeper that sells the honey bees produce. With that being said, a live removal is not always as easy as it sounds. We try to strive whenever both of us can to save them, however periodically the bees get aggressive. All honey bees tend to get stirred up and really aggressive in the removal process. We have some special sprays and vacuums to calm the bees down, however it does not always work. I like to compare bees to a natural fire. The fire can be ran tests on with water and an extinguisher, unless it grows and gets out of hand. That is why live removal is not always possible, however when the bees get out of hand, the rescue turns into extermination. At the end of the day it is better to put them down rather than risk people getting hit or the family pet dying. The two of us see a lot of critters tied up in the backyard. They can only take so several stings, however rather than have a possible out of control situation, both of us get the task done the way it works the smoothest.
