I would set the thermostat for my heating system at 55 degrees, and I would wear enough clothing to stay comfortable. If my heating system ever stopped working, I could take the time to learn how to figure out how to fix my own heating system. Since only I was cold, I could live with the consequences of taking a while to fix my heating system. Now that I am married my entire life has changed. First of all, I have a central air conditioner. That cost me a fortune to have installed, and I pay a lot of money to use my air conditioner. Also, I use my heating system differently too. Throughout the year, the thermostat in my house is always set to 70 degrees, because that is the temperature that she likes.
