Beautiful bride seemed to melt at the altar
Beautiful bride seemed to melt at the altar
After nearly two years of preparation the day finally arrived for my niece to get married.
- The wedding was taking place at the church where she grew up and it is in a historical chapel.
Due to the status of the building they are unable to make any major changes, including the addition of air conditioning. In order to install a new conventional HVAC system it would mean adding ductwork which would take away from the aesthetics of the building. The congregation and council will not even consider it. For the wedding ceremony they will be plugging in fans to help circulate the air, but, that will be the only form of relief available. Why my niece choose the middle of July knowing this, I have no idea. On the big day we all dressed in lighter clothing while she was in her formal wedding gown. She did her best to smile and seem like she was in control but it was obvious that she was about to melt into a puddle. Even the fans didn’t seem to help the situation. All I could think about was the fact that the reception was in a hall that had air conditioning and that at least our evening would be cool and comfortable. I am very sure that this thought was going through my niece’s mind as well. The temperature in the chapel had to be in the upper eighties and I felt so bad for her. She was so beautiful but I am sure that really wished that she had an air conditioned space instead of the place that she was in right now.
