I can’t take the heat any longer
I have made the decision to relocate to a milder climate.
I grew up here in the South and I have come to the realization that I just hate the heat and humidity.
Sure, I have air conditioning, and I can stay cool and comfortable by hibernating inside, but I just want to be able to go for a walk, sit on my porch, or work in my garden without feeling like I am in a sweatbox. If I move up North I will have to deal with the cold but at least during the Summer I can enjoy the outdoors more comfortably. Even here in the South I am stuck inside during the winter due to the frequent storms so I can handle that. The mild temperatures up North will allow me to have my windows open and take a break from running the HVAC for a bit. I am sure I will have to purchase a portable HVAC unit for those few occasions when it is too warm but I won’t mind that at all. I will make sure that my furnace or heating system is top of the line and that it is serviced regularly. I know that having quality and efficient heat will be important as the winters can be long and cold. Many people decided to to the opposite, they move South so that they can escape the winter. It may seem strange that I want to move to where it is colder but I just can’t take the heat any longer. The older I get, the harder it is to tolerate the hot stuffy air.
