Was it a ghost, or poor heating?

My girlfriend and I had always talked about going to England one day.

For our honeymoon, we decided to go to England and stay in one of those old castles.

I thought it was going to be fun, but I had to admit that I was scared out of my shoes. When we got there, they gave us a tour of the castle. We were cautioned not to walk through the hallways or we could get lost and run into one of the resident ghosts. I told my wife I wasn’t scared, even if I did feel a chill go up my spine at the mention of ghosts. I had to get up in the middle of the night, and I walked out to use the bathroom. I could feel a cold chill creeping up my spine. I knew it was probably poor heating in the castle, but I worried it was a ghost. When I got back to the room, I told my wife how cold it was in the hallway. She told me it was warm in the room. She had placed another log on the fireplace and she had also turned the thermostat up a little. I laid in bed that night, unable to go to sleep. I could feel a chill in the air, and I was sure I was hearing noises behind the walls. My wife woke up and asked if I wanted her to turn the thermostat up again. It was set at sixty, but she wondered if the fireplace wasn’t enough. I told her I was fine, and she turned to look at me. She started to laugh and reminded me I had said there were no such things as ghosts.
