A gust of the raw wind made him wish he’d grabbed a heavier jacket, but he wasn’t ready to turn back.

He’d climbed it several times, but today he needed his feet planted firmly on the ground. A white-tailed deer loped across the path in front of him. Jeff veered off the trail to follow it toward the creek. The rushing water and the forest noises calmed him, but as much as he loved being there, he was getting cold and had to head back. On his way back, temperatures were dropping by the second, so much that Jeff fantasized about his new heating and cooling system. A month ago, Jeff had called the local heating and cooling provider for what he initially thought would be a simple furnace/heater tune-up that ended up being a long boiler repair. The HVAC technician told Jeff that the boiler needed new parts to function optimally. When the HVAC repairman finished work on the heater, Jeff had made quite some progress on the kitchen counters he was replacing. After the heating contractor replaced the furnace filter and serviced the HVAC equipment, it was much more efficient than in the past year. Jeff could not wait to get to the electric furnace’s warmth. He loved the great outdoors, and chopping wood was a good stress reliever, but he was glad that heating technology had come a long way, and he did have to use a wood furnace as his central heater. The convenience of just flicking a switch to get the house warm was something he was grateful for, and if there was any problem, all he had to do was call an HVAC technician to fix it.
