Installed the last heat pump we’ll use
As you get older, there are times when you find yourself doing something for maybe the last time.
- I felt that way the last time I went snow skiing.
I’ve never been all that into outdoor winter pursuits. I’m from the south and if it’s cold outside, we flip on the heat pump and stay inside. But my wife is from a part of the country where that would be being inside with the gas furnace on for months at a time. That’s just not something those folks do. Instead, they get outside and they do stuff like skiing. Normally, we join other parts of my wife’s family for a skiing trip during the winter. I think I’ve done my last one. It was too cold and I was sore for a week from falling. I could literally go the rest of my life without going skiing again. Thanks to the HVAC professionals, I’ve also installed the last residential HVAC equipment that I’ll ever need. My wife and I decided to stay put when we retire. So we upgraded the HVAC equipment on our house and sold it. With the proceeds from that sale, my wife and I chose to build a small house for just us and the dog. This is going to be where we spend our retirement years. We designed it to be sustainable and easy to maintain. That’s why we decided to go with the geothermal heat pump. This sort of heat pump is most efficient because it relies on the near constant temperature of the earth for heating and cooling energy. On top of all the heating and cooling utility savings, the geo heat pump has incredible longevity. So it will be producing quality heating and air for probably as long as I live.
