Petting the wild horses

Petting the wild horses

My wife and I both had days off around the same time.

Since we were both teachers, we both had the entire summer to ourselves.

I taught math and my wife taught science. She absolutely loved animals, and suggested that we go and pet the wild horses at a park in another state. I didn’t say it, but that sounded like an incredibly boring trip. This was something we differed on, she loved animals, and I would much rather focus on humans. But, since most of our past vacations have been mostly geared towards me, like taking a trip to see the planes do cool tricks in the sky, I decided to let her have this one. So, we set off, music playing loudly and our air conditioner pumping out a cooling breeze, they day was starting off pretty good. It took a few days of a road trip, but we eventually checked in to a hotel. The rooms were kept icy cold, and I turned our room’s AC down a bit. I then followed my wife and we tracked down the horses. These horses weren’t technically wild, as they were used to humans, but yet they were called wild. I was surprised when we did find them, how they approached us, unafraid. Especially since horses are known for being fearful and skittish. I was already disliking the increasing heat, but my wife seemed to be genuinely enjoying herself, so I endured. I took a few good pictures of her smiling and petting the horses, before heading back to the nice icy air conditioned hotel rooms.
