When you’ve lived in apartments for 20 years, you tend to really be appreciative of your own place.

For me, I really didn’t think it was going to happen.

It seemed like I was just always about 2 steps behind being able to afford the downpayment on my own place. That was tough to take. I’d get so close to getting out of the bad heating and cooling of my apartment only to see the prices go up and be out of reach. But I kept at it. And finally, I was able to afford a starter home which is absolutely all I really needed. It’s just me and my cat so it’s not like I needed a bunch of room. This house has 2 bedrooms and a small spare room that I turned into an office. I work remotely from home so it was great to have a real home office instead of the kitchen table. But perhaps the best thing about the whole deal is the quality heating and air that I have in my place. The house was a bit worn down and one of the things that I had to replace was the HVAC equipment. When I found out that the ductwork wasn’t any good, I chose to go with the ductless heat pump instead. Actually, I have a ductless multi split system in my new house. There are 3 ductless heat pumps placed strategically through the house. I was just stunned by how great they are and astonished at just how efficient ductless heat pumps actually are.
