It’s really great to work from home.

I wouldn’t have believed it had I not seen it for myself.

For years, the company offered incentives to those who would work remotely from home. And I always turned it down every single time. That’s because I wanted to be inside the zone controlled HVAC of the office with my colleagues. My vision of working from home was just lonely and dull. But all that changed when the pandemic hit. Suddenly, nobody was working from the zone controlled HVAC of the office and everyone was at home in their own air conditioning. This was something that I simply had no choice but to learn and get accustomed to. And it wasn’t easy at first. I did miss the zone controlled HVAC of the office and my colleagues. Plus all the online meetings were hard to get used to at first. It was a real learning curve. But once it became apparent that we were going to be out of the zone controlled HVAC of the office indefinitely, I got hip quicker. And to my surprise, I really took to working remotely from home. I found that my work was better in both quality and quantity. And I wasn’t the only one as I got the best review of my time with the company. What I also found was that I had so much more freedom when it came to my schedule. So I was able to schedule my work time around the HVAC setting. In the summer, I get up really early and get to working so I can take a break when the house is heating up due to peak heating hours. Then, I do my errands and housework. I wrap up work in the evening once the heat abates.
