I’m not the best at simply giving in and giving up.

That’s just not really the way I’m wired and it certainly wasn’t the way I was raised. So when I had to leave the air conditioning security of my house during the pandemic, I did it to save my company. For sure, the idea of leaving my wife and home for extended amounts of time were definitely not what I wanted to do. But the fact remained that I could only do so much to help my customers from the HVAC security of my home. My wife and I had both abandoned the zone controlled HVAC of our offices to work from home. I actually gave up the lease on my office in order to save money. My business is really just me a 7 other people. So transitioning to working remotely was not that big a deal. What was a big deal was the fact that I wasn’t traveling to our customers. The idea of flying during the pandemic was not one I was ready to deal with. While I knew there were HEPA filters on these planes, I just wasn’t ready to fly until there was a vaccine. That left just one option. That was to get in the car, crank the air conditioning and get out on the road to look after my customers. Fortunately, I was able to find great heating and cooling that entire year that I had to be out on the road for extended periods. I found the interstate hotels to be the best ones when it came to air conditioning and HVAC heating. Plus, the fact that they were affordable, clean and convenient was also a very big plus.
