It’s one thing to hate your job. We all have to work and that comes with a certain amount of dealing with our jobs. Hating where you work to the point you want to quit is also part of reality. But the fact that I went from absolutely loving my job of 20 years to being ready to walk out the door is quite another. But it’s funny what a change in leadership and a small change like HVAC comfort will do to reverse that situation. It’s one hundred percent true that I’ve always loved going to the office. The work is in my field and I love the company. And I’ve been leaving the air conditioning comfort of home to go to work at the same place for more than 20 years. But four years ago, the manager I had worked for all those years retired. And the new manager was so not up to the job. He had no sense of how to lead. The fact that we worked in an older building with HVAC equipment that wasn’t up to snuff was a great example. This guy wouldn’t do anything to improve the heating and cooling situation in the office and it was getting dire. We were all suffering through the summer and bringing space heaters to work in the winter. He finally got canned and we have a new leader. She’s awesome and she recognized the HVAC problem right away. Withing a few weeks of her being here, we had new HVAC equipment with zone controlled HVAC. This lady gets it and I once again love coming to work.
