Running water to the barn started a continuous project
I used to spend a lot of time outside in the barn, and I didn’t have water running to the building.
I decided to dig some trenches and run water lines to the building so I could have a sink in the barn. After I had water in the barn, I wanted to upgrade the electricity. I spent a fortune to make the upgrades, but I spent a lot more time in the barn working on projects. I had several lights which made it possible to work after dark. I was slowly getting the barn into better shape. A couple of my friends came by and we sat outside in the shed drinking beers until the late hours. It became a habit every night that summer and fall, until winter when the temperatures were too cold to sit outside. One of my friends suggested starting a fire in a fifty gallon barrel, but I didn’t want the shed to burn to the ground if we got too drunk one night. Dale suggested adding an overhead heater to the barn. I thought he was joking, but he said it would be really easy to perform the work if I supplied the materials. Dale works for a heating and Refrigeration company and the guy is super smart. If he said it could be done, I believed the guy. A week later, we went to the hardware store to purchase all of the materials necessary. My buddy’s chipped in for some of the fees since we all spend time in the shed. The equipment for the heating upgrade was reasonably priced, especially since I didn’t have to pay the installation fees that a professional would have charged.
