I bought a new thermostat for the house a year or two ago and it was working just fine when my wife and I added a new heat pump and AC unit installed in our house.

The HVAC sales guy tried to sell me a new Wi-Fi thermostat for the system, but I told the guy that I didn’t need any smart machine to tell me the temperature.

The guy told me that a programmable thermostat came with a new heat pump and AC system for free. Since the programmable thermostat didn’t cost me a penny, I decided to let the HVAC technician install the machine. I have to admit that the new thermostat is really nice. It has a much larger screen than the one I purchased two years ago. It also has a couple of different functions that will make it easier to control the indoor temperature and our Energy bill. The programmable feature is very nice. And allows my wife and I to set the temperature differently for odd times throughout the day. For instance, we always program the thermostat so the temperature is cooler at night. It saves us a few dollars on the heat and we never realized that temperature change since we are asleep. At precisely 6 in the morning, the thermostat is programmed to revert to a warmer temperature. By the time we wake up for work, the house is comfortable. I didn’t really think that the programmable thermostat would be a big deal, but I’m glad that we upgraded to a new machine.
