I have a real issue when it comes to a place being overheated.

If someone has the heating system on too high, I start sneezing and coughing really bad.

It is like my allergies totally act up when the central heating system is cranked too high. And actually, it is not just the central heating. It can also be from any form of heating. Weather it be a portable space heater, a gas furnace, an oil furnace or even a steam boiler…too much heating just really sets me off! I have asked my doctor about this, and he said it is rare, but at the same time it is sort of common in certain people. Another words, he’s seen this before. The best thing he was able to do for me was to give me some allergy meds, and tell me to stay out of really high heated places. That can be a bit difficult because my girlfriend that I live with sometimes likes to keep the heating system higher, even with my allergies. She has sensitivity to the cold, so it’s kind of like we are both the reverse. It is certainly not a reason for me and her to break up or anything like that. It’s just we have to rotate with our heating preferences, and one of us has to suffer here and there. We thought about getting HVAC zone control to combat this issue, but HVAC zone control is a bit too pricey for our tight budget. So for now, until we can afford HVAC zone control, this is what we’ll have to do.
