I have an older electric furnace in my basement, which does me pretty well for all of my heating needs in my house.

However, this electric furnace has been making way too much noise as of lately. Everytime the electric furnace turns on, you hear the banging and kicking kind of sound. Almost as if some kid is down in our basement using the furnace as a basketball hoop! I knew this wasn’t right, and when several weeks of this went by and nothing changed, I decided to make that dreaded phone call to my local heating and air conditioning corporation to send one of their best certified heating and air conditioning specialists out to check on this electric furnace of mine that was being so noisy! The heating and cooling company was able to get a heating and air conditioning specialist out within twenty four hours, so that was really great timing in my opinion. When the heating and air conditioning specialist went and looked at the noisy electric furnace in my basement, he said to me that this was the tell tail sign that the electric furnace was at the end of its life, and that I would have no choice but to either replace the electric furnace, or just get rid of it all together and go with a brand new, up to date and very pricey central heating system. It would be very pricey because of the type house I have. That’s a whole other story that I will not get into at this very moment in time. I am going to go with just replacing the old electric furnace.
