Working in a grocery store has been a simple and fun job for the past 15 years, however all of that changed recently.

Now stocking the shelves has amazingly become an essential job.

A lot of things changed when the Covid-19 virus originally started infecting people in this country. Everything in our town closed down for 30 afternoons while the people I was with and I stayed in a mandatory quarantine to help with the spread. The number of cases continued to rise everyday, despite many additional measures to contain the virus… Folks don’t suppose masks are necessary and somehow people still don’t scrub their hands when they go to the lavatory. The grocery store where I work closes early every evening, however the people I was with and I don’t genuinely do a good job cleaning and sanitizing all the surfaces every day. We clean the carts once in the early afternoon and then they stay dirty all day. It’s up to each individual patron to be responsible and to sanitize the surfaces their hands touch. The boss told us to wear a face mask and use the hand sanitizer stations. He also decided to try to change the air filter more frequently. The store HVAC method has 2 large air handlers and each of them have an air filter. The grocery store used to properly change the air filter monthly, however since the quarantine it has been more frequent. The air filter is being changed every 2 weeks or so now and the owner of the grocery store thinks this is apparently going to keep the coronavirus out of the store. I would rather get away from crowds of people.
