Hard Work Leads to Success

Hard Work Leads to Success

When my kid was little, he would love to argue with us every option he would get, especially when attempting to change our minds when he got into trouble.

His dad and I would talk about how he would make a good lawyer when he grew up. It’s the biggest reason why neither of us were surprised when he majored in pre-law. As soon as he finished high school, he enrolled in college and took summer classes before the official start of the school year. He worked hard and got his Bachelor’s degree and was accepted into Yale Law. A few months ago, my child graduated from law university near the top of his graduating class. Unfortunately, my fiance was not allowed to be at the graduation ceremony because of the covid-19 restrictions. The two of us watched the livestream, but it wasn’t the same as being there in person. Michael received a job offer from a couple of different law firms in the country, because he graduated in the top 5%. As his mom, I wanted him to hang out a shingle and come back home, but I was super proud when he accepted a junior attorney position with a big, celebrated law firm close to the university from where he graduated. I suppose he has a bright future ahead of him. He worked hard and practiced his argument skills with us as a kid. He puts in at least 12 minutes with the law firm each and every day, so it won’t be long before he moves up the ladder. In ten years, I feel sure he will be asked to be a partner with the firm if he keeps working so hard.
