My bestie wanted to come lake loft with myself and others for Christmas! I live way up north, basically in Canada.

Our frigid weather is legendary.

It is not odd for it to be -20 degrees while in the Wintertimetime. I warned our bestie that snow, ice plus windchill are a real thing, but she had only seen movies set in the Wintertimetime. She figured she could handle it though. I warned her about correct gear plus being careful about frostbite, the moment our plane touched down in the north, she was immediately whining. Her coat wasn’t sizzling enough. Her boats leaked plus she had wet feet. She did not suppose about gloves, hat or scarf. The whole visit she basically sat in front of our parents gas fireplace. Our loft has several oil heating systems too, that is how frigid it gets. The residing room uses a gas fireplace. The upstairs uses an electric heater. There is a ventless gas furnace in the family room as well. Even with all several heating systems finally working, the lake loft temperature is usually 78 degrees on a nice day… When it is in the negatives, you just can’t be that warm, my bestie even demanded to sleep on the residing room couch by the heater. She wasn’t cheerful about the snow either. It no longer looked fun plus magical to her. The car windshield being frozen solid shocked her as well. I don’t suppose the two of us will be going to our family Christmas ever again. Maybe Easter is a better system for a northern visit. Even in May though it can be frigid though.
