The CDC recommends MERV 13 air filters

With three boys in the property I’m especially worried that one of them could bring the covid-19 virus home… Especially now that the schools are opening back up… However, I’m a single mother who works full-time and I honestly can’t afford to fret about it too much.

I always clean the property as much as I can and I also purchased a HEPA air purifier for the kitchen.

A friend of mine was telling me that her brother got the coronavirus and they use a Merv 13 air filter for their HVAC equipment… That’s what was easily suggested by the CDC. It would seem that the Merv 13 air filter can capture viruses and bacteria in the air instead of spreading them throughout the property. Her brother also had to wear a mask all the time, however fortunately, no one else in the property caught the virus. I looked into getting a Merv 13 air filter for our HVAC equipment but, after learning our HVAC specifications, I was able to learn that this air filter is too powerful for our HVAC equipment. It will make our HVAC system task too hard. I have to get an air filter with a slightly lower rating. That honestly worries me a bit. I’m not entirely sure that the lower rating Merv will actually work to trap the covid-19 virus if it gets into our property. However, I really am not able to afford to get an up-to-date HVAC system installed either. However, I guess some of these HVAC companies have payment plans, so I’m honestly thinking about doing it anyway. After all, it would save me a good amount of money if it keeps me from getting sick.
