I wanted to make sure that it was running again without any noise.

My wife had been complaining that our furnace was making a ton of noise while it was running. When she first mentioned that the furnace needed to be fixed, I completely forgot that she had mentioned it. However, over the next few days, she was constantly reminding me that I needed to fix the furnace so that it would stop making so much noise. One day, while she was gone, I finally remembered to fix the furnace, and I pulled out all of my tools to fix the furnace. I began taking the furnace apart and putting the pieces on a towel on the floor, careful not to ruin the carpet. After this, I found the broken part and set it aside. I quickly drove to the hardware store to purchase the part that I needed to get the furnace working. When I came back, I took my shoes off in front of the door, set the bag and receipt on the counter, and walked over to the furnace. I put the new part in the furnace and began putting the entire HVAC unit back together. After just a few short minutes, the entire furnace looked like new. I walked over to the thermostat to turn it on. I wanted to make sure that it was running again without any noise. I read a book while listening to the noise from the furnace, but nothing happened! Apparently, I had fixed the furnace. I was so excited for my wife to realize what I did, but when she came home, she knew immediately what I had done, and she was not pleased. I had left all of my tools and everything else on the floor.
