Ductwork sealing to keep critters out

Ductwork sealing to keep critters out

Critters kept getting into my house and I could not figure out how.

It am not just talking about just bugs either.

I kept seeing house geckos in the house. I even saw a small toad once. After complaining about it to a friend of mine, she suggested that I have someone look at my ductwork. She said that the same thing had happened to her, a few years ago, and it turned out to be from gaps in her ductwork. So I called out an HVAC place and they came out to take a look. They told me that my ducts needed sealing and cleaning. They explained that there are gaps over an inch wide in places so it is no wonder that critters are getting into the house. Sealing the ducts would also save money on my power bills because air was literally just being pushed outside. I signed all of the paperwork and it took them two days to seal all of my ductwork. They gave it a good cleaning too. Since I had my ductwork sealed, I have not seen one critter in the house and I am very happy. My electric bill has gotten much lower too. It does not seem that my HVAC system has to work so hard to keep my home temperatures right. It is kind of concerning to think that I was breathing air with small nasty critters in it too but at least that won’t happen any more and my ducts are nice and clean now too so I know there are no more animals in them.
