I am surprised how far along we have come in regards to the “smart” industry.

By that I am talking about things in almost all aspects of our lives.

There are smart cars that can stop themselves. Soon enough we will have self driving cars. We have smart phones that do everything. Smart appliances exist that tell you what groceries to buy. Now there are even smart HVAC systems. They adjust the temperature depending on the time of day and your habits. These smart HVAC systems also adjust their own vents to keep the whole house heated and cooled to different settings. And, they tell you if something is wrong long before your entire HVAC system shuts down. You can even connect your house to your smart HVAC system and your smart appliance plus your alarm system and have a home that works all together. It is almost like those science fiction movies where the house cooks dinner and cleans up after dinner. Of course, we haven’t gotten there yet but we seem to be well on our way. I mean, if our HVAC systems can start planning their own daily schedule is it such a reach to say that our houses might start planning our daily schedules in the next decade or two? I think not. How many generations will pass before we can’t drive a car anymore because cars completely drive themselves? I am not saying all of this technology is a bad thing. But, even if it was, I don’t think we could stop it. That is a little scary.
