The time is near.

I am hating the next five months.

I knew the nice weather we’ve been having recently was too great to be true, but I was getting used to it. This weather is in stark contrast to the horrific heat and humidity that will be in our region until winter. We knew summer was coming, but I’m not ready for the nearly 90 degree temperatures, and I’m panicking over the quality of my central cooling system in this new house. It’ll be my first summer in this house. This means I really don’t know how well the central air will combat these extreme elements. I’ve been able to manage, happily ignorant for the past few months, but the first taste of summer heat came earlier this week. My biggest problem is getting to sleep at night. I grew up in the Northeast, where, far from this heat and humidity, the temperature dropped so much you would wind up shivering unless you headed under some blankets. So, to this day, I can’t sleep unless it’s cool enough. If I cannot have efficient central cooling at night, I should pack up and leave now.
