There are so many ways to advertise nowadays that it makes my head spin. I never thought that I should be advertising my bakery online. I had flyers out in the local area. I had advertisements in the local newspaper. My bakery was doing a good job, but I wasn’t getting any online orders. I had what I called Jar Cakes. The cakes came in all flavors and they had lemon, blueberry and other various fillings, along with a real buttercream icing. I couldn’t understand why no one was ordering from my website. A friend of mine told me I could advertise on Facebook. I was also told that I could advertise on LinkedIn, or I could do a Pay Per Click Marketing campaign. I had no idea how to go about doing a Pay Per Click Marketing campaign. To be honest, I had no idea what Pay Per Click was. I only knew that it sounded very expensive. When I contacted an online marketing company, I put my request in as being interested in Pay Per Click. They explained to me that pay per click was used to draw people to my website. Whenever someone clicked the ad and went to my website, I paid a certain amount. They also explained there are several ways to go about pay per click. We could bid on our keywords. If we won the bid, whenever a certain keyword was put into the search, it would put my website at the top of the list. I paid when someone clicked my link. This sounded really expensive to me.
