I knew I should have listened and gotten that generator.
I knew I should have listened and gotten that generator.
There is nothing worse than waking up on a cold afternoon and frosty even though you have several blankets on you.
That is what happened to myself and others last week.
I had set the temperature control to seventy because of how frosty it was supposed to be. I heard the weatherman saying that it was supposed to go below zero. I wanted to be prepared for the cold. The gas furnace had been cleaned and ran tests on only a month ago, and the Heating and Air Conditioning tech told myself and others that the gas furnace was in fantastic condition. I got out of bed and checked the temperature control, which was dark. I thought I had the Heating and Air Conditioning worker put current batteries into the temperature control. Then I realized the lights weren’t on. That’s when I knew I didn’t have any power. I was ready to kick myself when I realized that the people I was with and I didn’t have power, which meant no oil furnace either. I had talked to my Heating and Air Conditioning worker just several weeks ago, about a generator. She told myself and others that if I didn’t get a generator; I was going to end up losing my power at a bad time. The apartment was in a secure section of the country and everyone here lost their power at times. She said the previous owner had a generator because she often lost her power for afternoons. I could only hope my power would come back sooner than later. I was going to call the Heating and Air Conditioning business and have that generator installed so I never had to spend another cold afternoon in my home. I didn’t realize how frosty it could get when you didn’t have the gas furnace running.
