How HVAC is like the body
How HVAC is like the body
It is interesting to understand about the partnership with ducts and vents.
In the beginning, I thought that ducts plus vents were similar.
Kind of, but no. Both ducts plus vents are unique elements of any building’s heating, ventilation and cooling system system. The same basic thing applies even with the size of the building. What works in a tiny house pretty much is how it is laid out for a college. Multiple vents are required for air to go in plus leave a building’s ducts. In fact, the total system works in a case really similar to the heart and breathing within the human body. Think of the indoor air handler as the “heart” of the machine. The supply vents are like arteries. Instead of passages that carry blood from the heart to the body, the supply vents supply the passage of air. It’s just as easy to consider return ducts like being the human veins. After the air moves around, these passages return air to the indoor air handler the same way that veins carry deoxygenated blood back to the heart. While it might sound kind of weird, it is how air is transferred around in your HVAC duct. It goes over and over from the indoor air handler. Of course, like the human body, if not cared for, the whole thing will go down, however just like arteries can get clogged, the HVAC duct can get dirty. Call your local Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C supplier to do a bit of HVAC duct cleaning. Think if you have a major cut and blood is pouring out of the body. That is awful for the whole system. A small tear in the HVAC duct results in a leak.
