The forced air Heating, Ventilation plus A/C appliance in our dwelling was installed roughly 8 years ago.

I suppose that doesn’t seem that long ago but over that time period it has started to run more frequently and for longer periods of time.

I was anxious that the two of us needed to upgrade the component but the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C appliance professional said that there were ways to make it run more efficiently without having to go that route. He said that one of the main reasons for systems having to task harder is the buildup of dirt and debris in the HVAC duct of the dwelling. Since the HVAC appliance is 8 years old, it has had that long to have this build up happen in the dwelling. We have teenagers, pets, and have done numerous renovations over the years so I am sure that all of that has added to the growing problem! He suggested a cleaning of the HVAC duct and explained that they utilize powerful vacuums and brushes to entirely sweep any dust and debris from the system. We agreed to pay for the service and when they arrived to do the task I could not get over the size of the appliance that they used. What astonished me more was the nearly twenty pounds of debris they removed from the HVAC duct. This honestly left me feeling embarrassed that our dwelling was so dirty. They said that this was relatively common for systems similar to ours but suggested that the two of us have it cleaned at least every few years. They also said that if the two of us did any massive projects or renovations the two of us should shut the HVAC appliance off if possible or at the truly least cover the vents to avoid massive concerns.
