My dad was in town for a few days and we decided to have some fun.

We ended up spending a few hours at the beach and then he wanted to go look at some of the shops on the boardwalk.

By then, I was getting very hot and tired but I didn’t want to admit that I was having trouble keeping up with my dad. Finally, we decided to stop at this little restaurant and eat. I figured the food and drink might give me the strength to go on. I’m so glad I did. As soon as I walked into the restaurant, I felt the refreshing cool air from the air conditioner hit me like a refreshing drink of water. It was so incredibly cool and comfortable inside. we both ordered some drinks and appetizers. But I wished we’d saved a little more room for the main course. The fish was great. Sitting there and relaxing in the air conditioner let me cool off for a bit. I didn’t want to leave. I think my dad felt the same, because we both ended up eating our food really slowly. He looked a bit tired himself. This southern heat was a little more than he’s used to. After lunch, I was ready to hit more of the shops. However, my dad was ready to go home. I couldn’t say that I blame him. When we finally got home, we just wanted to sit in front of the air conditioner and rest. My dad didn’t want to go back outside and explore for the whole rest of his trip. I guess this heat wore him out. It wears me out too.
