It’s been cooling off a lot around here the past few days.

Whenever the Winter time temperatures start setting in, you just never know what people are going to do when it comes to their HVAC systems… Periodically people turn their oil heating systems up and they just let them run for the duration of the winter.

I guess that’s okay if you have 1 of those energy efficient oil furnaces, since that way you won’t have to pay super high heating bills every month! But sometimes people don’t understand the way to set their temperature controls so that all the people will be comfortable… For example, last night the two of us had to go to a activitys banquet for my son’s fall pigskin league, and at the banquet, there were close to multiple hundred people. The management team at the banquet facility apparently didn’t take into account the body heat of all the people that were at the activitys banquet. When you have over multiple hundred people crammed into 1 big room, the temperature is definitely going to go up because of all of the body heat! Of course, the management team had the temperature control of the banquet facility set at a entirely high temperature. The weather outside was entirely cold, so having the temperature control set at a high temperature would make sense if you weren’t going to have so multiple people in the room. I don’t know the management team thought about how hot it was going to be in the room with all of those people. By the time the two of us left the banquet, I was done with heating for the night! I didn’t even turn the furnace on in the vehicle on the way home.
