Life has been really tough the last year and a half. Little Judy, my daughter, and I have been on our own for quite some time now. Having a child at the young age of 20 was already a problem but expecting the guy you were with at the time of birth would be there for the rest of your life as well. He skipped out of town and was never found again after 2 months of our daughter’s birth. He just dipped on us and never returned. I thought things were ok but apparently, I was wrong. He left and now it’s just Judy and I. I’m struggling financially but still have enough to have a place and food on the table. I don’t have any family so I can’t really count on anyone. It’s been hotter the last few days and I was going to wait another month to buy a portable air conditioner but with my daughter struggling and I with sleep, we needed it. There were ones on sale and I went the day they were having it. By the time I got to the store, they were all gone and I saw this guy walking away with the last portable air conditioner. I really wish I had central air conditioning or anything air conditioning but I don’t. So at this moment, my heart dropped, and I saw my daughter just tear up. Then at the last second, the guy looked at us and said, “It looks like you need this portable air conditioner more than I do.” He is our savior for today.
