I am all for the simple life & being content with whatever I have, however but when I figure out that there is something out there that can improve my life & I need it, I’ll have it; My mom, on the other hand, is consistently cautious & reluctant to adapt to change, and he can hardly install updates on his smartphone, let alone use the AC in his car! Even the heating supplier who comes to carry out heating service has suggested his time & again to switch to a more modern control unit, but he will not budge. There is no difference with operating a fireplace because you have to walk over to the unit to make changes to keep the right temperature. The last time the guy came over, he recommended a heating dealership that sells Heating, Ventilation, & A/C replacement & offers a one-time free heating repair with any replacement! However, my mom still didn’t take the time to browse through what the heating supplier offers. To avoid the back & forth with his about maintaining an ideal temperature in the house, I usually have my electric boiler on standby just in case I need to use it & adjust it as I please… Keeping the house officially heated is overpriced, but with the help of an Heating, Ventilation, & A/C professional, Mom can get the best recommendation as long as he stays away from a furnace because those are not practical now, given the condition of his house. I know he makes little effort to keep up, so I have to consult a heating specialist on his behalf to ensure we have the best service.
