I think I have become addicted to hot chocolate and hot chai tea. This afternoon, I sat in front of the window air conditioning unit, while drinking a cup of hot chocolate. I was sweating and fanning myself, but I couldn’t put the cup down. I had to drink every drop or. I didn’t know why. I knew I had a problem. The air conditioning was blowing in my face, but instead of a glass of ice water, I had to have that hot drink. I didn’t care if it was hot chocolate or chai tea, I just knew that I had to have that hot, creamy drink or my day wouldn’t go as well as it should. I cupped my hands around the hot chocolate and took a long, scalding drink. My hands were itching from the head, and I had to hold my palms up to the cooling AC. Two minutes later, I had to do the same thing. My tongue was hot, and I felt like I was going to be sick, but I finished the cup of hot chocolate. My husband brought a large glass of ice water for me and told me to drink it before I got sick from the heat in my office. I had a lot of work to get done that day, but without my daily dose of hot chocolate or hot chai tea, I wasn’t sure I could get it done. I’m thinking I’ll need to drink it with breakfast from now on, since we have the air conditioning turned on for the season.
