That summer, there was one of the worst heat waves we had ever experienced. Temperatures were above 100F and we ended up adjusting the thermostat settings in our home. We have 2 young toddlers and 3 dogs, so we didn’t want them to feel uncomfortable in the house. Sadly, this led to the AC failing since there was such demand to cool the space. Immediately we noticed the AC had failed, so we got in touch with the local HVAC business. We had been hiring them for such jobs for years, and we have an HVAC service agreement with them. When we spoke with a lady at the HVAC company, she apologized and said all the HVAC workers were out on emergencies and repairs. The heat wave had affected many people, and they all had issues with air conditioners. However, she would send someone to our home as soon as they were available. An hour later, we heard a knock on our door and I went to see who it was. There was an older gentleman there and he was wearing a shirt from the HVAC business. He introduced himself and said he was also on duty because of the numerous emergencies. This was the first time we had a boss come to fix the faulty air conditioner in our home.
