So, they had to put the plans for the home upgrade off, or assign someone to oversee the projects. I just happened to get home early from college, and was assigned the job. There was a contractor who was coming to do bathroom renovations. Mom wanted to upscale the bathrooms which had remained the same for the last decade and a half. This was the best time to do so since we were all out of the house. Well, technically I still had my room, but I was always away at college. They wanted to upgrade the house and perhaps put it on the market if they chose to downsize. Apart from the bathroom renovations, there was also a HVAC expert coming to install a new heat pump. Again the heap pump at home was 15 years old, and it was time for a new one. They’d chosen a heat pump since it’s energy efficient and does a good job in the hot climate. Well, the HVAC expert did come by and did the replacement. He was in a hurry to finish the job and go to another one so we didn’t get to test the heat pump. This turned out to be a mistake because the heat pump wouldn’t work when I wanted to use it to cool the house. Well, I called the HVAC company to explain the situation and they apologized. They sent the HVAC expert to replace the faulty heat pump and this time we made sure the unit was working before he left.
