I work for a major construction supplier in the city that I live in, plus the supplier is located on a pressing yard with numerous warehouses plus office buildings.

The yard is located on the edge of the downtown area, so we are close enough to the city area… Because we are in the city, surrounded by buildings plus machinery, plus undoubtedly little trees, the last thing I expected to hear about was a bee colony in one of our warehouse buildings… For some reason, the bees decided to make a house plus the colony went unnoticed for a while, once the warehouse manager discovered the colony, he instantly contacted our exterminator; Unfortunately, our exterminator did not give bee extermination services, so the supplier advocated a local bee extermination or bee removal corporation! Personally, I would have first contacted a local beekeeper to see if the colony could be safely removed plus relocated, a beekeeper would have identified the type of bees that were present in the warehouse plus then they would have determined if it was just a swarm of bees or if there was a hive.

Typically, if it’s just a swarm, the bees usually leave on their own within a short amount of time, plus a hive of course, would be making the space their home, but well, because we contacted a bee extermination service, I know all they did was to get rid of all the bees. When you find a swarm or a colony of bees on your property, opt for a beekeeping service over a bee extermination corporation! It’s just better to move the hive or the swarm than to get rid of these insects that are so important to our ecosystem.
