I’m really enjoying this winter. That’s not really usual for me as winter is not at the top of my favorites list. Thankfully, we don’t get the full assault of winter like our neighbors to the north. But it still gets cold and wet and dreary enough that I don’t want any part of going outside. With our new heat pump, I’m enjoying the perfect warmth and comfort of my home like never before. The new residential HVAC was installed in September. And while I’m in love with the latest in residential HVAC and HVAC technology, it was kind of a mess the way it at all played out. The HVAC technician who did the air conditioning tune up last spring told us the heat pump wouldn’t make it all that long. Both my wife and I should have realized this long before last spring so we could have started saving for a new heat pump. But life comes at us pretty fast and that was on neither of our radar screens. So we decided to essentially place a bet on the old heat pump that it would get through another summer. And we really did all we could to try to make that a reality. We prepared the house for the summer to maximize HVAC efficiency. And we were very conscious of the thermostat setting in order to ease the load on the ancient heat pump. But of course, the heat pump died in the middle of August. And we had to wait nearly two weeks without any air conditioning before the new heat pump could be installed. So, I’m really enjoying the perfect heating we’re getting from the new heat pump now.
