Killing the flying insects in my home

Killing the flying insects in my home

Luckily I have started putting out some traps and insect killer and it seems to be working.

Last week I made one mistake. I had bought a bunch of bananas from the grocery store and I left them out of my counter. Throughout the week the kids and I ate nearly all the bananas except for two. When I bought the bananas they were already fairly ripe so it didn’t take long for them to start going bad. Unfortunately, the remaining bananas that were left out started to rot. I had asked my kids to throw the old bananas that were no longer any good away, but I guess they forgot to because they were still out in the kitchen. Now ever since that day I’ve had annoying tiny little black bugs buzzing around in my house. I think they’re fruit flies or some type of gnat but I’m not really sure. All I know is that they have got to go, I have spent the last week researching how to get rid of them and I think I know how they got in. I have a hunch that they might have come in through my air ducts. I noticed that the fruit was left out in the kitchen near me, and I’m just wondering if somehow they flew in through the HVAC system, through the air ducts, and into the house. That was my going theory until I had a heating and AC specialist come out and tell me that wasn’t where they were coming from. I later found out they got in just from the door being open too long. Luckily I have started putting out some traps and insect killer and it seems to be working. Their population is declining and I will be rid of them soon. It made it really hard to get any work done when I would have them buzzing around my screen. So what I do is turn on the fan to create some turbulent air, having my AC system on full blast helps with that too. Thankfully now they’re almost gone.
