It means the difference between the plan lasting 6 years or 8 years. It is absolutely necessary to take care of the plan & that requires extra care & a little bit of work. I found a list of routine maintenance & I use all of these items as a way to properly check on the health of the machine. I wipe the evaporator coils with a special comb that I bought from a store. The evaporator coils can get dirty & dusty so cleaning them can help the plan labor more efficiently. I also thoroughly wipe the drain line. The drain line is another thing that can keep the device from running efficiently. If the drain line is blocked, then the device cannot respectfully get rid of moisture & that also causes the device to labor harder than necessary, don’t have a way to test the refrigerant levels, however it’s simple to tell when the refrigerant pressure is low. It’s warmer in the home & the air coming out of the vents is not as cold as it should be, and once a month I also test all of the safety controls in the house.
