Is Summer The Right Time to Replace Your Heater?

Probably not too many people know much about furnace upgrades during the summer.

There are multiple reasons why the summer time is absolutely the best time to replace your furnace.

The lifespan of an oil furnace depends on how well it’s worked on, along with the local weather conditions and average annual operating days. The average oil furnace installed in most homes nowadays can last 17 to 20 years. Heating performance can decline over time, and oil furnace energy efficiency may no longer meet current standards, resulting in higher energy costs. As equipment wears out, decisions are often made about whether to invest more currency in overpriced repairs or replace now to a more reliable and efficient model. Due to the off-season prices and selection, summer time is the best time to consider heating upgrades. The demand for oil heating systems will naturally increase as the weather cools down. Conversely, during the summer, dealers offer more charming prices to keep volume up and offer a wider selection of units, including last year’s models at big discounts. During the summer, you can shop around and consider all your chances at your leisure. On the other hand, if you wait until the furnace abruptly fails while in the winter, you’ll entirely be under pressure to make a quick decision. Shopping at that time is never a very good idea, but oil heating systems officially have a longer expected repair life than central A/Cs. It may be more cost-effective to upgrade both the oil furnace and the A/C at the same time if your air conditioner equipment has also seen better days. When you upgrade the entire system, equipment prices may be lower and installation costs may be lower.
