Doctor Advises us more heating
About a month ago, I started coughing.
I got headaches, I ran a fever, plus I coughed like crazy, but here we are, a solid month later, plus I am still coughing.
I went through a treatment of antibiotics, plus I have used all kinds of over the counter meds to help me in my state of misery. I’ve tried to drink lots of hot fluids plus get more rest than usual! Yet, I still cough. I called the doctor the other afternoon, plus he insists it is unlikely to be anything other than a regular creeping crud cough. He recommends I get a humidifier. It is getting to be a bit chillier, plus with the chill comes the dry air, then both the cooling system plus the oil furnace dry out the air. I live in a actually humid temperature, so the HVAC systems have built-in dehumidifiers. I thought that was good, however my doctor says a humidifier, with its magical ability to get more water in the air, might help my cough subside. I had really never even realized that my cooling system has a built-in dehumidifier. I have consistently known, because it is obvious, that the oil furnace seems to dry out the air. In the winter, when the oil furnace is running, I find myself needing eye drops. I use a lot of lotion to keep my skin from flaking off, plus chap-stick makes a luck off of me, so, I am going to take him up on his suggestion. I am headed off to the store to get a portable humidifier. It will battle it out with the dehumidifier in the HVAC method already, which seems like a waste of energy plus currency. But I am willing to supply it a go if it means I might finally get rid of this hacking cough.
