Nutritional counseling was important to his health.
Nutritional counseling was important to his health.
My brother was one of the fortunate victims of severe Covid-19 that survived the ordeal.
He had lost so much weight during his ordeal that the doctor told him he needed to get some nutritional counselling so he could gain the weight back safely.
He had special needs to keep his body healthy and get it back in shape. He had been on feeding tubes for almost two months, and when he could eat actual food again, he had trouble keeping it down. His stomach was no longer used to solid food. The nutritional counseling was helping some, but he was still having difficulties. My sister-in-law was feeling his pain as much as he was, and she was no longer sure how to help him. The doctor recommended he get special foods that could be discussed with the nutrition counsellor, that would be better for his body. The nutritional counsellor told him it was going to take a month or more for his body to get back to normal, and he needed to take his time and not get stressed. With the help of a nutritional counseling expert and his doctor working closely with them, it took almost six months before he was making progress. Six months wasn’t much when we thought of the benefits he was getting and how much he had improved. It has been almost two years since he began working with the nutritional counsellor, and his doctor has seen him make many strides. I can only hope he will continue recovering and soon get back to normal. I am looking forward to his walking me down the aisle in a couple months.
