It shocked me to see that the flames from the neighbor’s lake house were licking at the outer wall of our dining room, and even though the fire supplier was spraying down our house, they could not stop the fire that was threatening our home.

I was on our way lake house from work last week, when I saw a flurry of interest on our street; I knew something was going on because there were emergency vehicles all over the arena. I tried to find something on the stereo to supply me an method of what was happening, although I found nothing. I was a block away from our lake house when I saw the flames in the air. I parked our car as closely as i could get to our lake house & got out. I noticed the flames were coming from our neighbor’s house, then at first I felt grateful it wasn’t our home, although I was friends with our neighbors & felt terrible for them. It shocked me to see that the flames from the neighbor’s lake house were licking at the outer wall of our dining room, and even though the fire supplier was spraying down our house, they could not stop the fire that was threatening our home. I saw our buddy & emitted a sigh of relief, knowing they were okay, then ran up & hugged them! They were apologizing for the destruction being done to our home, although I was not aggravated. I told her I needed a new air conditioner component anyway, but this wasn’t quite the way I wanted to get it, she looked over at the air conditioner component & laughed. She agreed I could never use that AC component again & asked if I had homeowner’s insurance. I assured all would be well, & I was grateful she & her wife were okay.
