I finally invested in a smart thermostat because I travel so much.

I hated leaving my home and just hoping everything was all right.

I never felt confident enough to have the girl that waters my plants or the one that watches my cat to mess with the thermostat. I came home one day to the kitchen coated in water. The pipes under the sink burst due to the cold. I had the heater on low heating mode. The power must have gone out and the heater never restarted again. So the house got cold, the water in the pipes froze, expanded and then burst. I came home to a huge mess. Now I can avoid that with my smart thermostat. The thermostat allows me to set the temperature from anywhere as long as it has wifi. Now when I leave I don’t need to worry about low heating or AC. I keep my HVAC basically the same all the time. I can adjust if my area gets an unseasonably warm or cold burst. I also get alerts on air filter changes, humidity issues, energy efficient settings and the weather outside. I really love all the add ons that come with this thermostat. Another cool element is that I can set a HVAC program as well. This way I don’t even need to go into the app and mess with it. I can just have a program that starts with AC in the morning when I get ready for work and nothing the whole work day. I can even have it power on an hour before I come home without me touching a button. It is pretty neat.
